David Alaba is back on the football field. After the ÖFB star missed Bayern’s 8-0 victory against Schalke on Friday due to muscular problems in the thighs, Alaba has now started preparing for the Supercup final against Sevilla FC with the Munich team.

The defender can be ready for the match on Thursday (21:00) in Budapest.

Away from the green grass, the tug-of-war over a new contract between Vienna and the Champions League winner continues. Bayern President Herbert Hainer has also stressed the desire for an extension of the contract with the Chief of Defense from Vienna.

He does not give up hope “that we can still be successful with David Alaba because we made him a really competitive offer”, Hainer told the specialty magazine “Kicker” (Monday edition).

Alaba’s contract with Bayern expires in 2021. Negotiations are ongoing as both sides have not yet been able to agree on compensation.
