Microsoft buys US game developers for $ 7.5 billion



US software giant Microsoft is strengthening its gaming division around the Xbox game console with a multi-billion dollar acquisition: The company today announced an acquisition agreement with Zenimax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks and several other well-known game developers.

Microsoft will pay 7.5 billion US dollars (about 6.3 billion euros) for it. With its studios, Zenimax is responsible for hit games such as “Doom”, “Fallout” and “The Elder Scrolls” and according to its own information has about 2300 employees.
