Keanu Reeves has a reputation for being one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, but when an interviewer got his character’s name wrong Bill & Ted, Reeves called out the guy. Well … he did it in the funniest and kindest way, of course.
Keanu Reeves discussed the latest ‘Bill & Ted’
We all make mistakes, but considering MTV reporter Josh Horowitz’s campaign for eight years in interviews with Reeves and Alex Winter about making a Bill & Ted sequel a reality, you would think he would know the character Reeves plays in the movies.
During a 2013 interview at the Toronto International Film Festival, Horowitz flagged this very well-known fact and made it unthinkable. He called Reeves’ character in the movies Bill.
In the interview, Horowitz mentioned how they “talked for several years about Bill & Ted. “He wondered, ‘Do you regret now that I mentioned to myself one day on an Oscar-red carpet Bill & Ted 3 would happen? For now, it follows you everywhere, it follows Alex everywhere. Maybe you should have done it in secret … ”
“It’s a long story,” Reeves explained of the delay in doing the third part. “There are lots of subterfuge and conspiracy theories. There’s a whole thing … I may need to do one of these independent presses, conspiracies, other names to explain why it hasn’t happened yet, because it’s pretty dark out there. ”
At the time, Reeves declared, “There is [a script]. There are all sorts of things and it just can not – it’s just – there is darkness out there that prevents it from happening … It’s the part of the story where it looks gloomy. It is the dark period of the idea. ”

The interviewer destroyed Keanu Reeves’ character name
Then Horowitz made the ultimate mistake. Will Bill’s voice come back naturally? Is it difficult to get back to the actual voice, the cadence for Bill ?, he asked Reeves.
What more can the actor say, besides correcting the interviewer’s mistakes. “I play Ted,” he told Horowitz. “Oh my god,” Horowitz replied.
Horowitz looked blown away about making the mistake, but Reeves, always the lovable and happy guy, took it in stride. But first he began to dig a little about the mistake.
“You just lost all your faith, boy,” he told Horowitz, who stood up and walked away in disgrace. “That’s right. That’s what you should be doing right now because you just lost all yours Bill & Ted I guess.”
Horowitz returned and tried to fix the obvious oops, saying he thought Reeves would play Other roll i Bill & Ted 3.
The actor did not have it and said to Horowitz: “Nice. Nice try, Dave. ”
He added playfully: “I forgive … but I do not forget.”
Reeves was gracious about the mistake
Reeves was not too offended by the mistake and calmed the interviewer by sharing one behind the scenes Bill & Ted story that is quite sweet.
“Do you know what’s fun about it?” he said. “I’m telling a story. Because it happens. I’ll tell you one Bill & Ted story.”
He reassured Horowitz not to feel guilty about the mistake before he began the story. “So one day we go in – Alex and I both, when we heard we got the roles, thought we were going to play the other guy’s role. So I thought I was going to play Bill and he thought he was going to play Ted. That was weird.”
“Then we both went to closet furniture and they told us we had the other roles, and then we said …” OK. “”
